⚠️ What the book does NOT say
It does not offer controlled clinical-trial proof that "right-brain-to-right-brain" therapy outperforms other approaches. The book is an interdisciplinary theoretical synthesis that assembles developmental, neuroimaging, and psychoanalytic findings into a model; the clinical implications explicitly outrun the controlled evidence.
The "right brain = implicit/unconscious self" mapping is Schore's integrative interpretation, not a neutral consensus finding. Laterality is presented as strong tendencies (left conscious/verbal/analytic, right unconscious/emotional/holistic), not as a strict anatomical dichotomy, and the identification of the right hemisphere with Freud's dynamic unconscious is a proposed reading.
The hyperscanning and imaging studies it cites establish interbrain synchronization in communication, not that psychotherapy cures by that mechanism; Schore reads them as consonant with, and supportive of, his model.
"Regression," "dissociation vs. repression," and "mutual regression" are clinical-theoretical constructs organized by the hemispheric model, not directly measured neural events in the therapy room.

Depth — declared honestly. This is a large academic book (~126k words). It was not read line by line. The structure is exact: the single Contents page and all nine chapter headers were located by line index and confirmed against the .txt. Each chapter was read as an openings-and-key-passages reading — chapter openings, the author's framing paragraphs, and, for chapters 3–4, the core sections on regression and the dissociation/repression defenses; the extensive intervening citation reviews, figures, and reference apparatus were not exhaustively read. Chapter 1 doubles as the book's own preview of every later chapter and was used to cross-check the arc.
Anti-fabrication control. Every quotation was selected from passages actually read, then re-verified against a flattened, de-hyphenated copy of the source .txt (line-break hyphens removed, whitespace collapsed).
