This is a practitioner manual, not a research volume: exercises, worksheets, mapping tools, client scripts. It applies a theory it does not test.

That matters because of what the theory's own originator writes, in a book this corpus also holds: Polyvagal Safety (2021) states that Polyvagal Theory is not a static theory, but a framework for organizing information and structuring hypotheses, and that although there is not a specific polyvagal therapy. ⚠️ Both strings are verbatim from that other book, not from this one — italicised here so they are not read as Dana's words.

Provenance

⛔ This book exposed the most serious defect found in the tool. Under v1.4 the literal probe searched the raw text while the dossier's candidates come from whitespace-collapsed sentences: any sentence straddling two lines of the .txt returned 0 occurrence — and that false negative was written into the cumulative journal, which exists to be trusted, saying "already searched, not there". A search not done gets redone; a persisted false negative prevents it. Fixed in v1.5 (whitespace-tolerant literal probes) with fixture SONDE-d; the four probes were re-run, and the journal carries a correction block rather than a deletion (R1). Corpus-wide check: 5 negative probes existed in total — these 4 were false, the fifth (Tomasello) was a deliberate control and stands.
